Overview

Africa’s southwest region is home to Namibia. This vast, mostly arid nation borders Angola to the north, Botswana to the east, South Africa to the south, and Zambia and Zimbabwe in the Caprivi Strip, a slender swath of Namibian territory jutting from the northeast corner of the nation.

There are 795 miles of some of the world’s most bleak and breathtaking coastline to the west.

The Namib Desert’s enormous, ever-shifting sand dunes stretch 50–80 miles inland along its whole length.

The 25,500 square mile Kaokoland mountains stretch along the coast in the extreme northwest, and farther inland is the dried-out salt lake known as Etosha Pan, encircled by grasslands and shrubs that are home to a wide variety of wildlife.

One of the best game reserves in Africa is Etosha National Park & Game Reserve because it is still mostly unspoiled by human activity.
